Sugar can affect your teeth and overall health in a number of negative ways, and there are many things you can do to break the addiction.

In addition to dental decay, eating a diet that is high in sugar also puts you at a higher risk for obesity, diabetes and many other health concerns. Many people know that sugar is bad, but they just can’t stop eating it, and that’s why we are here to help you break the habit. #4. Stop drinking your sugar.
Soda is one of the main reasons why we consume so much sugar in the United States; it is simply packed with sugar! One 20 ounce can of soda contains 16 teaspoons of sugar, which is about 1/3 of a cup! However, soda isn’t the only beverage that contains too much sugar. Sweet tea, sports drinks, energy drinks and even fruit juice are all very high in sugar and you simply don’t need it. Cut out or cut back on these sweet beverages, and replace them with water. It’s okay to indulge every once in while, but a daily habit can be harmful to your health.
#5. Just say no to free sweets.
Most workplaces celebrate birthdays, holidays and even run-of-the-mill Fridays with sugary treats and snacks. It’s human nature to enjoy these treats when we’re in a social setting but consider having a small piece of cake or half of donut. Indulging in moderation will help you limit your sugar intake. Sweet treats aren’t easy to say no to, especially when everyone around you is indulging, but it’s important to do just that.
Kicking your sugar habit is one of the most difficult things that you may have to do for your oral and overall health, but it is well worth it!
